Intriguing ICOs pop up all the time – and this is certainly one of them. Lucyd (LCD) is currently holding its token sale, and it will continue until February 28 (or until the $10 million hardcap is reached). At the time of writing, the token sale has already raised 15.2 million LCD tokens, which is about $3.8 million.

With only two weeks left in this token sale, we thought we’d highlight the basics of this upcoming coin for our readers.
What is Lucyd?
There have been a lot of augmented reality (AR) glasses made already, and the technology has gotten quite advanced. There isn’t, however, really a comfortable pair that’s ergonomically designed for everyday use out in the real world.
That is what Lucyd is trying to develop – smartglasses that we can wear anywhere while they stay linked to a decentralized AR ecosystem. Lucyd has already snapped up 13 AR patents and are working with experts to produce the “first lightweight, prescription-ready smartglasses.”
Not many cryptocurrency ventures involve a hardware product like this, and the team has 7 PHD scientists working as part of management and an advisory team.
It’s drawing the blueprint for a pretty cool world full of smartglasses
If Lucyd really takes off, this could be something that’s actually mass-adopted. Imagine being able to buy AR-based apps and perform p2p smartglass transactions with a pair of regular ole’ glasses. The better the AR program that users get to try out, the better that dApp gets rewarded.
This ICO got a 4.2 from ICOBench and a 97/100 on ICORanker. Track ICO gave it a 5/5 too.
It’s surely an intriguing project, and they seem to have a solid team and vision. It’s also something the kids these days would be into – it’s just pretty fun to fantasize about a future where AR is embedded into our lives.
